Quasiperiodic oscillations around hairy black holes in Horndeski gravity

Abstract Testing gravity theories and their parameters using observations is an important issue in relativistic astrophysics. In this context, we investigate the motion of test particles harmonic oscillations spacetime non-rotating hairy black holes (BHs) Hordeski gravity, together with astrophysical applications quasiperiodic (QPOs). We show possible values upper lower frequencies twin-peak QPOs which may occur orbits from innermost stable circular to infinity for various Horndeski parameter q precession, warped disk models, three different sub-models epicyclic resonant model. also study behaviour QPO position relative (ISCOs) respect . It obtained that at a critical value ISCO radius takes 6 M has been pure Schwarzschild case. Finally, obtain mass constraints central BH microquasars GRS 1915+105 XTE 1550-564 GR limit frame above-mentioned models. The analysis twin peak ratio 3:2, around BHs precession (RP) resonance (ER4) models have shown locate close ISCO. distance between less than error observations.

Scalar fields coupled to three-dimensional gravity are considered. We uncover a scaling symmetry present in the black hole reduced action, and use it to prove a Smarr formula valid for any potential.
